For the last couple of years, panoramas have become a photographic fetish of mine. Each one of these images you are looking at are a merged/morphed culmination of about 20-30 images. The panorama photoshop technique is not as difficult as you might think but it does take some time to get it mastered.
HDR (High Dynamic Range) is another technique that places detail in brightest highlights and darkest shadows. It’s a technique that renders a very life-like ambiance to an image and can only truly be appreciated in high resolution.
Both of these techniques, used in conjunction, can render some amazing, out of the ballpark results. I've had great success with it in my architecture work as well as my landscapes.
