Portraits 102
From time to time, I get requests from people who would just like to have a nice image of his or herself. It could be a simple as they just wanting a fun portrait that they could use on Facebook or Twitter. Other times it’s as simple as they would just like to give a nice picture to a friend or relative that they could give as a gift. Whatever the need or want may be, I enjoy working with people and live by the attitude that whatever project I accept, large or small, deserves my full and utmost creative attention.
I photographed Mandy a few years ago when she was 13 and it’s always fun to reunite with past clients and help them document their life. Mandy mainly just wanted to have some fun images she could use on her social media sites but at 5’8″ and 16 years old, she was also curios about the possibility of perhaps doing some modeling or acting. This was a very fun and casual photo shoot and it was great to get reacquainted and document this amazing growth spurt Mandy has had since our last time together. It just so happened there was a snow storm happening that day. Instead of cancelling the shoot or freaking out about the weather, we just embraced it and incorporated it into a few of the images and hastily retreated to the warm studio once we had what we wanted.

Jason!
What a blast it was to work with you again!!!
This being the third time we’ve worked together, I’ was still impressed not only with your skill as a photographer, but with your ability to keep things “age appropriate”. You were very sensitive to both Mandy’s feelings as well as mine as the ‘protective’ mother. I’d also like to thank you for introducing us to Michael Manning!! He was kinda like the cherry on top of the sundae…an amazing stylist who really helped make the whole experience a time neither one of us will every forget!!! The fact that you were able to capture her personality and get so many amzing images at the same time, shows what a true artist you are!!
It was so much fun working with the both of you and hope our paths cross again in the future!!
Thank you and Best Wishes,
Heather
